Santa Maria Elks Rodeo Parade
A little while ago I was asked to do the Santa Maria Elks Rodeo Parade. With an early start I get to the staging area ahead of the CHP and get the car setup. A little while later they show up with a new Charger, after admiring each other's cars we hang out waiting for the parade to start. After waiting a little while the CHP mounted Patrol arrive. After some time talking we see that the parade is finally getting to us. So we get the cars fired up an roll. Just as we get ready to go we notice the Wells Fargo Stage hauler cut in and follow the stage on the parade route. So on we roll following the hauler, at first we were side by side and I soon noticed that people could only see one car so I pull ahead. Periodically I'd run the siren and people would clap, at one point the CHP chirped their siren and they get a little applause. That inspired me to roll the siren multiple times and got a pretty big applause, they chirped aging and got almost nothing, I win. When I get home I see that a taillight I ordered was delivered, I can't wait till I can get it installed, I'm waiting for parts for the other side before I get to it. | |
