Reflections Maybe in a few years I'll look back at this and reflect. |
Mojave Open House While I was at the Fresno Office I was told about the annual open house in Mojave, after a little debating I chose to go. I left early so the first part of the drive was cool and heat wasn't an issue, about two hours into it I hit a grade still no issue till I caught up with a slow truck, the temp rapidly started to climb. Just as I was thinking I might need to pull over (and nowhere to do so) the truck hit the next pullout and on we went. It took about 5 miles for the engine temp to get back to where it was, within another few miles I had to stop for gas then back one the road for a 20 mile downhill run into Mojave. Once there I pulled in front of the CalTrans office that use to be a CHP office for a picture then on back to the new office (for another picture). I was the first car there and was moved a couple times till they figures it all out. A lot more public at this event than there was at the Fresno one, chatted with a lot of people about the car. I couldn't resist getting a picture of Chipper with the car (he liked it). On the way home I took a different route and stopped at a location known for a corrupt Sherriff pushing speeders off the highway, not as close to the state line as one would think (Ok, scene in "The California Kid"). | ||
