Spring Fling 2017 - Friday
Because of the CHP event I was in the area through the weekend so I figured I take the car out and joint the organized cruise. I arrived at the park early and there were already some cars there so I backed it in and looked at the other cars. By the time we rolled out there were 54 cars, because of where I was parked I was one of the last cars out and it didn't help the pack was split with a traffic signal. Once I was on the highway I chose to negotiate traffic on my own as we had about 20 miles to the actual start of the cruise. Because of this I was able to quickly pass the half the pack that was separated by the signal. Once on the highway I was able to catch the first pack just as they were backed up exiting the freeway, I merged in within eyesight of the front. We cruise the canyons for a little while before reaching the Rock Store where we took a pitstop, good thing I made my way to the front as parking here is limited. When the word was given that we were rolling I headed out as the next stop has virtually no parking. After a short break I got in line as the cars rolled out, we then continued through the canyons till we ended up on the coast. A few miles down the coast the cars all lined up, it was quite impressive to see all the cars parked on the shoulder. As everybody was pulling out I moved the car up for a picture by the Malibu sign, many of the cars were stopping at one place for lunch others scattered about, I chose to head back as I was expecting a friend down for the show. | |
