Drained
Yesterday I only drained the tank low enough to get the level low below the vent and stop the leak. One of the reasons I waited to drain the tank was I needed more jugs to put the 23 gallons of gas in. I initially started to siphon the gas out the filler but quickly lost the siphon so I went to plan B. I moved up the front of the car where there is a hose coupling the rear body line to the front frame line, I removed the short hose and put a longer one on that would go into the gas can. Now the gas would just drain and siphon through the pickup tube in the tank. I set a timer for what it took to fill the jug and swap cans. I got pretty much all the gas out and dropped the tank, there was still some gas maybe a gallon in the tank. I capped the pickup nipple and vent lines then flipped the tank so i could dump the last of the fuel out the filler opening into a bucket. From there I was able to pour the gas into a storage container with a funnel. | |
