Harnessed
One thing about working on a C Body is that many items are just not available that might be for other Mopar’s, the electrical harnesses are no exception. Recently I contacted one of the companies that makes harnesses for the restoration suppliers about doing a harness for my car and they agreed to look into it. A couple worn out harnesses were sent to them as samples and they did their thing. They wanted to send the harness to me before adding the webbing so I could double check the fitting. Even before I received the harness I knew they were going to need to use a couple of the original sockets and add new contacts to them. I placed the harness with the sockets in the body where they would need to go and ran the rest in its proper routing to the front to check the length as well. Initially I looked around for where the fuel sender went when realized in the rust repair I eliminated the hole so now I need to locate and punch a new one. With this project this harness may be added to their product line depending on how they plan on handling the socket issue. | |
