Dyno Day
I chose to go to this show as they were going to have a dyno there and I wanted to get both cars checked. I recruited my friend Ron to go and drive the Barracuda. At first when we got to the show they tried to park us in one location and it didn't look right, turned out it was for exotics? The cars were moved and we checked out the show till it was close to the time I had set for the dyno. The Polara was taken to the dyno area, where they had an Audi on the dyno. After they clear the Audi I roll up on the dyno and they let me know they need to reconfigure the dyno as it was setup for all wheel drive. Once they get that done and secure the car they run their test, they did multiple runs and all fell short, well short of the expected numbers? My engine guy wasn't able to make it so I took the printout and left. After I was done with the dyno I chose to move the car to where the CHP was setup. A few cars later I take the Barracuda over and again the numbers were low, about the same difference. Again I take the printout and move on. I later find out that most of the people felt their cars were low, I know we all expect big numbers but these were not even in the ballpark. Finished out the show with the CHP and headed home. | |
