Reflections Maybe in a few years I'll look back at this and reflect. |
Lunch Time Drive My niece was in town and we went out to lunch and went for a drive, eleven years ago she was helping me put the car together. Shortly before she got her learners permit (years ago) we took the car to a deserted parking lot and I let her drive to car, she was only 14 and a little timid, either way she can say it was the first car she ever drove. Now 20 she wanted to really drive the car, not wanting her to learn about drum brake on a mountain road I drove the car to a place she could get a feel for it. Once we swapped and she rolled off I had her get up to speed (back road, 35 mph) then I picked a point and had her stop at it as if it was a stop sign, two car lengths past it she stopped. I set her loose and had her do it again till she felt comfortable that she could stop at the sign. I was happy and off we went. She drove the 20 miles back to the house. Her observations, you have to "drive" the car. | ||
