Reflections There was an issue with the lines at the master cylinder but we made it work, and there was a creative mounting for the proportioning valve. |
Disc Brakes Nothing is ever that simple, I thought it might be nice to upgrade the truck to disc brakes so I purchased the Scarebird kit and all the specified parts. The hubs and a couple bolts needed to be machined so that was taken care of. I get everything together and put the wheel on and it rubs so bad it couldn't even be bolted on. I take a stack of washers to see if the wheel could be spaced out enough to clear and it looked like a 1/2" spacer would work. A couple spacers were ordered and it still wasn't enough once everything was torqued down and the studs were not long enough. I thought I'd take a chance on some Crager Daytona wheels and they fit so I had my tires transferred, in fitting these wheel I was noticing the rotor was rubbing the caliper mounting bracket and the only way I saw to fix this was to space the rotor out using some washers, problem solved. The master cylinder was replaced and a proportioning valve installed at the rear. This came up in a forum, here is my creative mounting. | ||
