Reflections

Having these original parts for a 69 is absolutely unheard of and I took full advantage of them.

"Push It"

March 20/21, 2015

One thing about being friends with the owner of the finest restored 1969 CHP Polara is the wealth of information, the only thing better is being able to borrow the Prototype CHP Push-Bar assembly to make a copy. His original bar was taken to a local fab shop and they made a perfect copy. The struts were left off to allow for bumper alignment differences.

Along with the push-bar I also borrowed an original CHP harness that we removed from a car that was later deemed to far gone. It was unusual to see this harness still in place as they were removed prior to being sold to the public. It was surmised that the car may have been sold to another agency with most of it’s’ equipment still intact. I placed the harness in my car to better see how it was installed (we do have pictures of it in its original car). With it were some of the other components installed by the CHP.
