340 Time
I initially thought I'd keep the slant six but in the trip home with the car his a few grades and it became quickly apparent that the six would not do it. I checked with my engine builder about options, 273, 318 or 340. Not having a engine to start with the decisions was to go with a 340 and he recalled seeing one on Craigslist. Contact was made and we drove the three hours to look at it. He spent about an hour looking it over and taking measurements, he felt all the parts were good so a deal was made and we hit the road. On the way back we called the engine shop to see if they were there, that would add a half hour but save a three hour round trip just to go there. The block and heads were dropped off, the block just needed cleaning and a hone, and the heads needed the full build. Not even two weeks and it is on. | |
