After a year of searching and multiple misses one listed on Craigslist was brought to my attention, a 170 3-speed so no clutch conversion needed.

The pictures posted on Craigslist were not great so I had a friend in the area check it out for me. His pictures and opinion were enough to convince me to get it.

My brother and I got an early start out and were in Sacrament just before noon, grabbed a U-haul trailer and made our way to the car. Because of some issues with the brakes we had to load it up with only the hand brake to stop it, all in all it was not an issue and we got it loaded.

The seller was quite nice and was more than helpful in loading it up, he wanted to resolve the title transfer before we left town, no problem at AAA, on we went. A quick lunch before we hit the road. Clean sailing and we were home in time for dinner.

This was the first chance I had to realy look the car over. We one of the first things I did was take a sander to the two rust spots on the deck lid. I was happy to see that they sanded away just fine, so I hit some other smaller spots around the car as well. While I had the sander out I put the wool rag on and gooped it up with cutting compound and hit the entire car, it worked so well that I may do it again. I cleared out all the parts as well and took a brief look at the front left brake, it'll definitely require some attention later.

Well I finaly had a chance to look at the front left brake and wasn't to surprised to find it all gutted and gunked up. Tried to pull the right front drum but it was being stubborn and I din't have time to fuss with it.
